October 2004.

Support EPICUS - THE PARTY of INFORMED CONSENSUS (EPICUS).

"E-voting referenda on important issues with Informed Consensus."

Tony Blair and George Bush may have some great ideas but many bad ones. We want to vote on issues, not for a single person.

Devise a fraud-proof E-Voting system.

Consensus

1. TRANSPORT

"Time is each human's most valuable, rare resource. Don't waste it sitting in transport bottlenecks."

Reduce journey times and pollution. We know how to build and use roads - so tarmac the railways, prime routes used just 2% of the day. Tax greedy road space users and polluters.

2. HOUSING

"Every citizen is entitled to a pleasant place to live."

Keep interest rates low. Build more homes and enable self-build. Encourage kit houses. Use ALL derelict land. Educate people into having a good neighbourhood.

3. HEALTH

"Citizens are entitled to good free health care - but not unlimited health care. Educate people to take responsibility for their own health to “Die in the Best of Health”."

With 1.2 million employees the UK NHS is disorganised not understaffed. All NHS staff should be medically qualified – train many more nurses and doctors – stop subcontracting – bring back Matron.

4. EDUCATION TRAINING

"Each person has unique talents and different forms of intelligence which the education system should identify, nourish and develop. We must train our own apprentices."

All should discover their own talents, overcome inertia and apply those talents; thus is wealth created. Tutors should develop students’ skills – Academic, Sport, Music, Business, Politics, etc. Educate more through the media and the Internet.

5. LAW & ORDER.

"Citizens have a right to live in safety without fear or bad policing. Prison should only be for dangerous criminals. Punishments should fit the crimes."

Reduce the 60,000 in prison to 10,000; legalise recreational drugs and free fine-non-payers. Focus law agencies on major frauds and violent crime.

6. "IT'S THE ECONOMY STUPID" - FISCAL & ECONOMIC POLICIES.

"The sweat of steel-engineers or soldiers dying for the nation or nurses saving lives, are as valuable as the duties of any senior-manager. Equalise the rewards and respect for hard work and sacrifice.”

Repatriate all illicit offshore tax-haven money – about $14 trillion dollars in all – and use it to rescue Africa and other poor regions.

We are feeding too many fat-cats, who are often criminals, and starving key workers; bring in new wealth distribution policies

(see BIRTHRIGHT – BIRTHRIGHT WEALTH REDISTRIBUTION ).

Budget changes need to avoid dislocation - “Evolution not Revolution.”

7. DEFENCE, IMMIGRATION AND EMIGRATION – TERRORISM.

"We still need powerful defences but the world has changed and information flow prevents us from ignoring our neighbours' rights and needs."

Terrorists have threatened governments since the beginning of time – e.g. Guy Fawkes filled Parliament’s cellars with gunpowder - The secret and security services should do their jobs – or resign.

Balance immigration and emigration - "We in the UK are a particularly bastard race of mixed genes; producing a great country. Should we now stop mixing?"  Monitor the inflow and outflow of wealth. Balance off-shore wealth with taxation.
